Colleton County School District is Hiring a Maintenance Assistant Near Walterboro, SC
- Performs a variety of skilled HVAC maintenance and repair tasks in the maintenance of District facilities, systems and equipment.
- Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and/or replaces conduit, wiring devices, computer cabling, circuit breakers, fuses, receptacles, interior and exterior lighting equipment, switch equipment, fire alarm equipment, control panels, kitchen appliances, small motors, etc.
- Assists in repairing HVAC equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance functions as appropriate.
- Anticipates and requests supplies, materials and equipment necessary for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Cleans and maintains assigned vehicles, tools and equipment.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of work completed and materials used.
- Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly shop area.
- Performs all duties in compliance with District and department policies, procedures and standards of quality and safety.

Under regular supervision, performs skilled HVAC maintenance and repair work in the maintenance of District schools and other facilities. Performs related work as required. Reports to the Facility Operations and Maintenance Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Requires high school diploma, GED or specialized vocational training supplemented by one to two years of maintenance and repair experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
